Drawings of Uni /life/ - task 1
Our very first task-to do a /quick drawings/ of University live , interior, exterior, or something else. I was really confused because...I wasn't even taught to do drawings since...I was a child...long time ago. This stairs and the man with the computer is all I have done.
Body proportions and positions:
The measurement (ideal male height = eight heads) was set down during the Renaissance as an idealization of the human form. It’s rather obvious that very few people are actually eight heads tall (even Northern Europeans, who served as basis for this model, are closer to seven heads), but this is still the best model to start with, as it makes it easier to grasp the alignments.

I start with some drawings of stick man in different position. I was worried about my "skills" because last time I did draw something was ...lets say a long time ago. This one below are the one I did in class:
Was not so ...good. I decide to improve my skills - at last its only stick man, so I start to do practice at home /alone/ trying to do better and better stick man in different poses. May be it`s a bit better now. Whatever.. I keep trying.
No - this guy here - it is not a mistake - that was the task actually - to try to draw a figure that way. This task is a test for your feeling for proportions.
Unbelievable but I did it¬
Perspective
It`s really funny - you thing you know what the words mean but..do you?! For instance "perspective". I heard and spell this word thousand times but what exactly "PERSPECTIVE" mean in drawings... Next class - we start learning about perspective.
One-point perspective is a type of linear perspective. All categories of linear perspective include a horizon line and a stationary point (the position of the observer). In one-point perspective, only one vanishing point exists; lines radiate outwardly from this point, and perpendicular lines meet at this point. / Creative Glossary /
Two points perspective:
Two-point perspective is a type of linear perspective. All categories of linear perspective include a horizon line and a stationary point (the position of the observer). In two-point perspective, there exist two points from which an object’s lines radiate from; the sides of the object vanish to one of two vanishing points on the horizon line. An object’s vertical lines do not relate to the perspective rules of the horizontal lines. By changing the vanishing points of the object, one can make increase or decrease the size of the object. /Creative Glossary picture/
Tree point perspective:
Three-point perspective is a type of linear perspective. All categories of linear perspectives include a horizon line and a stationary point (the position of the observer). In three-point perspective there are also two vanishing points somewhere on the horizon; however, unlike two-point perspective, there also exists a vanishing point above or below the horizon line that the vertical lines disappear to.

Neverending story - human head - no way - it s too much. I can`t take anymore...
Proportions of the HUMAN HEAD:
Three-point perspective is a type of linear perspective. All categories of linear perspectives include a horizon line and a stationary point (the position of the observer). In three-point perspective there are also two vanishing points somewhere on the horizon; however, unlike two-point perspective, there also exists a vanishing point above or below the horizon line that the vertical lines disappear to.

I`ve spend a lot of time doing practice. The truth is - unbelievable but i like it.
Edgar Allan Poe`s THE RAVEN project:
“Once upon a midnight dreary…”
The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe is a popular narrative poem written in first person, that centers around the themes of loss and self-analysis.
Edgar Allan Poe (January 19, 1809 – October 7, 1849) was an American writer, editor, and literary critic. Poe is best known for his poetry and short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and the macabre. He is widely regarded as a central figure of Romanticism in the United States and American literature as a whole, and he was one of the country's earliest practitioners of the short story. Poe is generally considered the inventor of the detective fiction genre and is further credited with contributing to the emerging genre of science fiction.
Colagge and storyboard
Storyboard - a sequence of drawings, typically with some directions and dialogue, representing the shots planned for a film or television production.
The definition of a collage is a piece of art created by combining photos, clippings or small objects onto a surface.
The raven is one of my favorite poems, that`s why I choose this task. I imagine a tower in the darkest night. There is a light only in the small window on the very top. Cloudy, wind is blowing, moon is full... And.. I remember that I saw a church near the university it in Ealing, pretty close like vision to a tower i imagine, so I get there and do some photographs for reference, then I found a raven picture in internet and add some drawings for basic concept for idea of the loneliness in the darkest night
This one was a real challenge for me - we have to do a collage from newspapers pictures. Oh my god! Alright, lets see..I try do tell the story of a trip in London. Then we have to do a storyboard with this story - so you can see result down there:
It s rainy day in London - but there is something in the air...People are happy and joyful, someone dancing in the bus, lady dancing with bear puppet on the street. Do you remebmer that song "Its just a perfect day."
The one down there is a short storyboard of a pursuit.
WORLD/S/ OF SHADOWS
/independant research of exsibition
Someone fighting, somone praying, someone watching, someone win, someone lose, someone keep trying...Aways...World/s/ of shadows
I visited World Press Photo exhibition. My first impression was - my God world is full of violence and misery. Most of the pictures where about violence and misery. Killed people, suffering people, dead animals, war...Somebody phone is ringing...and someone start to talk to somebody, somewhere, start laughing...and just walking around And the pictures start look at him with all this pain and sorrow and loneliness...And i saw two words - the one on the photographs and one in the exhibition. And start thinking about world of shadows. Remember - Plato?! Real world and the world of shadows and reflections. And where is the border between. Which one is the real world - the one on the photographs or the one of visitors to exhibition!?
